The Forum PollTM Accurately Forecasts Liberal Minority

A good night for the polling industry overall

TORONTO, October 21st, 2019 – The 43rd Federal election concluded just as Forum predicted: with a Liberal minority parliament.

It was another excellent night for the Canadian polling industry, with all eleven firms predicting the election within their margin of error (if applicable.)

Forum's seat projection was amongst the most accurate by polling firms, deviating from the actual results by an average of just over 8 seats.

The Canadian polling industry is amongst the best in the world, and it was proved again last night.

“A Liberal minority,” said Forum Research president Dr. Lorne Bozinoff. “Our data was leaning toward a Liberal minority throughout the last days of the campaign, and despite a late surge in personal popularity for Jagmeet Singh, it never wavered. Now it's up to parliament to make the minority work, and for pollsters to enjoy a very successful result."
