plan to vote Progressive Conservative
Toronto, April 2nd–
In a random sampling of public opinion taken by The Forum Poll™ among 424 PEI voters, nearly
half (47%) of those who are decided or leaning are likely to vote for the
Progressive Conservatives. The Greens come in second with 28% support, followed
by the Liberals with 20% and the NDP at 4%. Fewer than 2% plan to vote for
other parties.
PCs
firmly in majority territory
We project 23 seats for the
Progressive Conservatives, 2 for the Greens and 2 for the Liberals.
“The Progressive Conservatives
are well positioned for another victory,” said Dr. Lorne Bozinoff, President of
Forum Research. "Premier King appears to have secured a majority
government."
NDP
losing most support
Among those decided and
leading who voted PC in the last election, 75% intend to vote PC again. In
comparison, 64% of those who voted Green in 2019 intend to vote Green again,
and 48% of those who voted Liberal intend to vote Liberal. Support for the NDP
is the most fragmented, with only 31% of those who are decided and leaning and
voted NDP in the last election still planning to vote NDP.
The poll was conducted by Forum Research with the results based on an
interactive voice response telephone survey of 424 randomly selected PEI
residents over the age of 18, 72% by cellphone and 28% on landlines. The poll
was conducted on March 31st, 2023. Results based on the total sample
are considered accurate +/- 4.8%, 19 times out of 20. Subsample and regional
