Liberals, NDPs remain tied in Sudbury

Little change in final two weeks of campaign

TORONTO February 3, 2015 - In a random sampling of public opinion taken by the Forum Poll™ among 469 voters in the Ontario provincial riding of Sudbury, where a by-election will be held on February 5, equal proportions, about one third of voters, favour either the Liberal candidate (one-time NDP MP) Glenn Thibeault (33%) or NDP candidate Suzanne Shawbonquit (36%). This compares to two weeks ago, when these two candidates were also tied (January 21, Thibeault - 33%, Shawbonquit - 30%). Former Liberal candidate, now Independent, Andrew Olivier, takes less than a fifth of the vote (14%) and Paula Peroni, the PC candidate takes slightly less (11%). Few will vote Green (6%).

This race has been tied up since it began, and all we can say is it will be a later night than usual on Thursday," said Forum Research President, Dr. Lorne Bozinoff.
