NB Headed Toward Minority

Likely PC

Toronto, September  23rd– In a random sampling of public opinion taken by The Forum Poll™ among 1503 New Brunswick voters, amongst those decided and leaning almost a third (29.4%) say they will support the PCs, while a third (35.8%) say they will support the Liberals.

One-sixth (16.4%) say they will support the People's Alliance of New Brunswick, while a similar proportion (13.8%) say they will support the Green Party

Few (3.6%) say they will support the NDP or another party (0.9%).

PCs to take plurality of seats

Based on these results, Forum projects a likely PC minority parliament. The PCs look poised to secure 23 seats, the Liberals 22 seats, the Greens 2 seats, and the People's Alliance 2 seats.

“The Liberals look to lead the popular vote by a considerable margin, but their vote is not efficient," said Dr. Lorne Bozinoff, President of Forum Research. “So despite a considerable lead, they are very likely to lose government on election day."
