Conservatives lead in Ontario
Strong among older males in eastern Ontario
TORONTO May 1st,
2015 - In a
random sampling of public opinion taken by the Forum Poll™ among 912 Ontario
voters, close to 4-in-10 will vote for the federal Conservatives if an election
were held today (37%), compared to a third who will vote for the federal
Liberals (32%). Fewer than one quarter will vote NDP (22%), about one tenth
will vote Green (7%) and few will vote any other party (2%). The Conservative
vote is characteristic of the oldest (48%), males (44%), in eastern Ontario
(45%), those with some college or university (47%) and provincial PC voters, of
course (85%). The federal Liberal vote is common to younger respondents (35 to
44 - 37%), the wealthiest ($80K to $100k - 49%, $100K to $250K - 48%) and
provincial Liberal voters (74%).
“Ontario is where elections are won in Canada, and we now see
the federal Conservatives with a clear lead in this province, where the two
leading parties generally battle it out on an even basis," said Forum Research President, Dr.
