CAQ has Majority Vote

Toronto, June 14th, 2019 – In a random sampling of public opinion taken by The Forum Pollamong 1471 Quebec voters 18 or older, nearly half (46%) say they would vote for Coalition Avenir Quebec (CAQ) if a federal election were held today.

Respondents most likely to say they would vote for CAQ include those aged 45 to 54 (55%) and 55 to 64 (57%), males (51%), those making $100,000 to $250,000 (55%), the most wealthy (58%), and those living in Quebec City (54%).

Majority Approve of Francois Legault

6-in-10 (61%) approve of the job Francois Legault is doing as premier. Respondents most likely to say they approve of the job he is doing include those aged 65 and older (76%) and males (66%). 

A quarter (25%) disapprove of the job he is doing as premier. Respondents most likely to say they disapprove include those aged 18 to 34 (35%), and those living in Montreal (29%) or Quebec City (28%).

But are Unsure of Pierre Arcand

Half of respondents (49%) don’t know of the job Pierre Arcand is doing as Leader of the Opposition. Respondents most likely to say they don’t know include those aged 18 to 34 (60%), 35 to 44 (54%), and females (58%).

A third of respondents (33%) disapprove of the job Pierre Arcand is doing as Leader of the Opposition. Respondents most likely to say they disapprove include those aged 44 to 54 (34%), 55 to 64 (42%), and 65 or older (39%), males (41%), and the most wealthy (57%).

"The majority of Quebecers approve of the job Francois Legault is doing as premier,' said Dr. Lorne Bozinoff, President of Forum Research. "It'll be tough for Pierre Arcand to gain traction when half of Quebecers aren't aware of the job he's doing now."
