Tories and Liberals Neck and Neck in Federal Election Among Voters in the GTA

Toronto, Aug 16th, 2021 – In a random sampling of public opinion conducted by Forum Research among 503 GTA voters, 36% of decided / leaning voters would vote Liberal,  followed by Conservatives (35%) and NDP (17%), if the election were held today.

6% would vote for the People’s Party of Canada, 3% would vote for the Greens, and 2% will support other political parties.

Respondents most likely to say they will support the Liberals include those aged 65+ (50%), female (41%), and those who live in the 416 region (40%).

Respondents most likely to say they will support the Progressive Conservatives include those aged 55-64 (47%), male (44%), and those who live in the 905 region (37%).

Respondents most likely to say they will support the NDP include those whose gender identities are non-binary (47%), those aged between 25-34 (31%), <25 (24%), 45-54 (22%), and female (21%).

These results will change as voting intentions change and are subject to the usual margins of error.
