Chow with significant lead in
Spadina-Fort York
Vaughan second with less than
half her vote
TORONTO AUGUST 6th - In a random sampling of
public opinion taken by the Forum Poll™ among 345 residents of the new federal
riding of Spadina-Fort York, close to 6-in-10 will vote for the NDP’s Olivia
Chow in the coming federal election (57%), while fewer than 3-in-10 will vote
for the incumbent member for the previous riding, Adam Vaughan (28%). One tenth
will vote for the Conservative candidate, Sabrina Zuniga (10%). Chow’s support
is almost universal among the youngest (83%) and is common to wealthy groups
($80K to $100K - 71%).
“While Chow’s support looks insurmountable, it must be
remembered this poll was taken among a relatively small sample of voters in the
riding, and her strongest supporters are the youngest, who rarely vote. So,
while we can safely say Chow leads in this riding, precisely by how much is
hard to determine," said Forum Research President, Dr. Lorne Bozinoff.
