Saskatchewan
Party doubles up NDP in final poll
31-point lead to result in more than 80% of seats
TORONTO April 3rd
- In a random sampling
of public opinion taken by the Forum Poll™ among 2563 Saskatchewan voters on
the Friday and Saturday immediately preceding the Monday provincial election,
more than 6-in-10 will vote for the Saskatchewan Party (60.8%), while one half of
this proportion will vote for the provincial NDP (30.1%). These findings are
broadly comparable to those noted the last time we polled (March 8,
Saskatchewan Party - 57%, NDP - 33%). Few will vote Liberal (5.5%), Green
(3.3%) or for any other party (0.4%).
Historic majority seen
If
these results are projected up to the 61 seat Legislature, the Saskatchewan
Party would take a supermajority of more than 80% of the seats (51), to 10 seats for the NDP.
“Premier Brad Wall hasn’t set a foot wrong in this campaign,
and the outcome was never in doubt from the beginning, but this will really be
a prodigious victory for him and his party," said
