Conservative Lead Unchanged
Would win a minority if an
election were held today
Toronto, March 21st – In a random
sampling of public opinion taken by The Forum Poll™ among 1490 Canadian voters, amongst those
decided and leaning, 4 in 10 (41%) say they would support the Conservatives,
and a third (35%) say they would support the Liberals.
One-sixth (14%) say they would support the NDP.
Respondents most likely to say they would
support the Conservatives include those aged 35-44 (45%), 45-54 (42%), or 55-64
(42%), males (50%), earning $40,000-$60,000 (45%) or $80,000-$100,000 (43%),
the least educated (45%), with some college/university (42%) or a
college/university degree (44%), and living in Alberta (70%).
Respondents most likely to say they would
support the Liberals include those aged 65+ (43%), females (38%), the most
wealthy (43%), with a post-graduate degree (47%), and living in Québec (54%).
“None of the events in the past month have shifted the needle on
the Federal horserace, with the Conservatives maintaining their lead over the
Liberals,” said Dr. Lorne Bozinoff, President of Forum
Research. “What may give the Liberals some modest hope, however, is that
despite their current troubles, that lead hasn’t gotten bigger.”
