MINORITY PARLIAMENT...ALMOST...
Toronto, April
22 - In a random sampling of public opinion taken by The Forum Poll™ among 1073
PEI voters, and amongst those decided and leaning, about a third (35.3%) say
they would support the PCs, a third (34.3%) say they support the Green Party, a
quarter (25.7%) say they will support the Liberals.
About 1 in 20
(4.6%) say they will support the NDP, and almost no one (0.1%) will support
another party.
13 PC
Seats, 10 Green, 3 Liberal
We project that the PCs will secure 13
seats, the Greens will secure 10, and the Liberals will secure 3.
Proportional
voting not likely to succeed
Proportional representation has evenly split
PEI, with about half (52.9%) saying that they will vote no on the referendum
question, while a similar proportion (47.1%) say they will vote yes.
“Based on our projection, the
government won't be settled on election
night. Until the by-election, called in response to the tragedy, resolves, the government of PEI will be in a
state of flux,” said Dr. Lorne Bozinoff, President of Forum Research.
