Hold Commanding Lead in Fortress Toronto
Toronto, July 9th – In a random sampling of public
opinion taken by The Forum Poll™ among 1143 Toronto voters, amongst those
decided and leaning, almost half (46%) say they will support the Liberals in
the next Federal election.
A quarter (26%) say they support the Conservatives.
1 in 10 (12%) say they will support the NDP, while a similar
proportion (10%) say they support the Greens.
1 in 20 (4%) say they will support the PPC, and a few will support
another party.
Respondents most likely to say they will support the Liberals
include those aged 55-64 (55%) or 65+ (53%), females (50%), the least wealthy
(49%), earning $20-40,000 (50%), or $80-100,000 (47%), living in the Former
City of Toronto (48%), East York (47%), or Scarborough (49%), and public
transit users (50%).
“The Liberals are
once again showing a dominant lead over their political rivals in Fortress
Toronto,” said Dr. Lorne Bozinoff, President of Forum Research. “Meanwhile, support for the Greens is continuing to rise in the city.”
