NDP holds narrow lead over Saskatchewan Party on eve of SK election

NDP on track for majority with slim lead

Toronto, October 27th – In a random sampling of public opinion taken by The Forum Poll among 2,934 Saskatchewan voters ahead of the October 28th provincial election, 49.0% of those who are decided or leaning are likely to vote for the NDP while 46.0% are likely to vote for the Saskatchewan Party. Voter support is low for the Green party (2.1%) and other parties (2.9%).

NDP poised for majority with Saskatchewan Party close behind

We project 33 seats for the NDP and 28 for the Saskatchewan Party. Either party must win at least 31 seats to form a majority government.

“A fifth term for the Saskatchewan Party under Scott Moe appears uncertain, with Carla Beck’s NDP holding a close lead as election day approaches,” said Dr. Lorne Bozinoff, President of Forum Research. “With 31 seats required to form a majority, current projections suggest the NDP is on track to form the next majority government.”

The poll was conducted by Forum Research with the results based on an interactive voice response telephone survey of 2,934 randomly selected Saskatchewan residents over the age of 18, 76.5% by cellphone and 23.5% on landlines. The poll was conducted from October 25-27, 2024. Results based on the total sample are considered accurate +/- 3.0%, 19 times out of 20. Subsample and regional results will be less accurate.
