Dead heat in Etobicoke Centre
Opitz and Wrzesnewskyj all
tied up
TORONTO September 18th, 2015 - In a random
sampling of public opinion taken by the Forum Poll™ among 885 voters in the
federal riding of Etobicoke Centre, equal proportions, about 4-in-10, will vote
for the Conservative incumbent, Ted Opitz (42%), and the man he best in 2011,
Liberal Borys Wrzsenewskyj (43%). One tenth will vote NDP (11%) and few will
vote Green (3%) or for other parties (1%). The Conservative vote is common to
Gen X (45 to 54 - 47%) and males (45%) while the Liberal vote is characteristic
of boomers (55 to 64 - 54%) and females (47%), as well as the wealthy ($80K to
$100K - 55%).
“Borys was a very popular member in this riding for several
years, until the Conservative majority of 2011 unseated him, not without some
controversy. It looks like this one will go down to the wire, as it did in 2011," said Forum Research President, Dr. Lorne Bozinoff.
