In Canada, 8-In-10 Drink, Half Gamble, One Fifth Smoke Pot

In a random sampling of public opinion taken by the Forum Poll™ among 2271 Canadians adults, 8-in-10 have drunk alcohol in the past year (81%), more than half have engaged in gaming or gambling (58%) and one fifth have smoked pot or used cannabis (20%)

In a random sampling of public opinion taken by the Forum Poll™ among 2271 Canadian voters, the wide majority continue to favour the Supreme Court’s ruling in favour of assisted dying in the Carter case (72%) and this support has not changed materially since we polled it last (April, 2016 - 74%).

Canadians Much More Positive About Country Than Last Year

Fully one half now say the country is moving in “the right direction” (48%), compared to just one quarter who took that position last summer (August 2015 - 26%), and one third in January of that year (January, 2015 - 32%).

Somewhat fewer opt for current interim leader Rona Ambrose (16%).

Federal Liberals With Over Half the Vote
